Terry Sanchez Wallace Jr. was born on March 23, 1994 in Detroit, Michigan. His family was poor and his parents were criminals: they didn’t devote much time to their child, so the only close family member Tee Grizzley could rely upon was his grandmother. In 2011 his mother was sentenced to 20 years in prison for drug trafficking; the year later his father was shot in a gang shootout. Despite the losses, Tee managed to get into a Michigan State University to study accounting and finance.

All in all, he was sentenced for 9 months for the Kentucky robbery and for 18 months for the Michigan State robberies.

On October 16, 2016 Tee Grizzley was released and soon he uploaded a music video called First Day Out to which he wrote lyrics while being in a prison. The video got popular and managed to get over 2 million views in the coming weeks.

Soon after he signed up a deal with 300 Entertainment & Atlantic Records to produce more music for their labels.
